ISLPR Questions

What is ISLPR?+
ISLPR stands for International Second Language Proficiency Ratings. It is an English proficiency test used by Australian teacher registration boards to assess internationally trained teachers.
Is ISLPR the same as IELTS?+
No. ISLPR is a different test with different tasks, different assessment criteria, and different examiner expectations. Preparing for IELTS does not prepare you for ISLPR. The two tests require different preparation strategies.
What band do I need for Australian teacher registration?+
Most Australian states and territories require Band 4 in all four skills. Requirements vary by state so always check with your registration board directly.
How long does ISLPR preparation take?+
It depends on your current English level and your specific gaps. Some teachers are ready in 4 to 6 weeks. Others need longer. We assess your level first and give you a realistic estimate.
What happens in the ISLPR Reading test?+
The Reading test involves 3 passages. For the first two passages, you give a verbal summary and answer verbal questions from the examiner. For the third passage, you read aloud. There is no written component in the Reading skill.
What happens in the ISLPR Listening test?+
The Listening test involves 3 audio recordings. After each recording, you give a verbal summary and answer verbal questions from the examiner. There is no writing or reading aloud in the Listening skill.
Which skill is hardest in ISLPR?+
Writing is the skill most candidates struggle with. It requires grammatical accuracy, professional tone, and precise language. Many teachers with strong spoken English still find writing the most challenging skill.
Can I take ISLPR multiple times?+
Yes. You can retake ISLPR. You can also retake individual skills if you pass some but not others. We recommend thorough preparation before each attempt.
About our coaching

Coaching Questions

How is your coaching personalised?+
We do not follow a fixed programme. We assess your writing and speaking first, identify your specific gaps, and build your preparation around those gaps. Every student gets a different plan.
What are your lesson timings?+
Lessons are available almost 12 hours a day — between 11:30 AM and 11:30 PM Australian time — with morning and evening slots to suit students in different time zones.
Do I need to find another student for the small group course?+
No. You don't need to bring another student — we will arrange it. We match you with a student of a similar level. You choose your own schedule — no need to coordinate with the other person.
Who teaches the classes?+
Sahil and Mansi work directly with every student. You are not passed to a junior instructor. Both coaches are involved throughout your preparation.
Are classes online?+
Yes. All coaching is conducted online. We work with teachers wherever they are located — in Australia, India, Philippines, Kenya, Sri Lanka, or anywhere else.
Can I pay in installments?+
Yes. Most of our courses offer a two-installment payment option. Full details are available on the Courses and Fees page.
